Cycling race route approved

Waukesha The Fresca International Cycling Classic will kick off in Waukesha July 7 on a route near the Fox River and Frame Park that was approved Tuesday by the Common Council.
A course route had been in question since merchants raised objections to last year's races held downtown. They complained that the route closed off part of the central business district.
The council approved a route along White Rock Ave., Baxter and Buckley Sts. The new course will take advantage of the $2.8 million Fox River redevelopment and beautification projects.
