Bo knows it's time to move on

Milwaukee Journal, The,  Apr 8, 1995

Bo Jackson, once a double-threat athletic superstar, has decided to hang it up and seek a career in another form of show business: acting.

Jackson injured his hip while playing football for the Los Angeles Raiders. Though he eventually underwent hip replacement surgery, his football career was effectively ended. The injury also slowed him down as a baseball player with the Chicago White Sox and, more recently, the California Angels.

That explains his decision to end his athletic career and seek to earn a living in Hollywood. This will enable him to spend his time before the cameras in roles that are, at least physically, less demanding.

It's the custom to wish good luck to an aspiring actor or actress by saying, "Break a leg." But that's probably not the kind of thing Bo wants to hear at this point in his career.
