-- OLD BARN COMMUNITY THEATRE, 3605 W. Bigler Road, Collinston, on Thursday, 6:30-9 p.m., and Saturday, 9-11 a.m., for "A Christmas Carol," directed by Marc Jensen. Callbacks will be Oct. 5, 6:30-9 p.m.

Come prepared to sing 16 measures of a song and read from the script. Rehearsals begin Oct. 8 and play dates are Dec. 1-17 (www.oldbarn.org).

-- THE EGYPTIAN THEATRE COMPANY on Saturday, 2-5 p.m., at the Utah Opera & Symphony Building, 336 N. 400 West, Salt Lake City, and on Oct. 8, 3-5 p.m., at the theater, 328 Main St., Park City, for "The Full Monty," being directed by Dane Durbano Keiter.

All roles are open for men and women of all ethnicities, including one role for an African-American male. There is also one role for a teenage boy, 12-14 years old. Come prepared to sing 16- 32 bars of a Broadway musical. An accompanist will be provided. All auditions are by appointment only (435-645-0671). Play dates are Feb. 10-March 11.

-- WASATCH THEATRE COMPANY, in collaboration with Appletree Productions, on Saturday, 2-5 p.m., in the auditorium of the Columbus Center, 2531 S. 500 East, for a children's-theater production of "Rudolph, the Red-Nose Reindeer."

Actors 6-18 years of age (grades K-12) are needed. Come prepared with a one-minute monologue. Play dates are Dec. 16-17 (446-5657).

-- THE ACADEMY THEATRE COMPANY, 3188 S. 400 East, on Oct. 3 and 5, 6-9 p.m., for "The Other Wise Man," with callbacks scheduled for Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. Men and women of all ages and acting abilities are welcome (486-2728). Play dates are Dec. 9-Jan. 14.

-- OLD BARN COMMUNITY THEATRE, Collinston, on Oct. 4, 6:30-8:30 p.m., for "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," being directed by Laura Lee Hull.

Come prepared to sing at least 16 measures of a song and do cold readings from the script. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning for leading roles may also be given music from the show to sight-read.

All adult and teen roles are open. The role of Chip will be cast from children who have previously performed in Old Barn productions. There will be no auditions for children under the age of 13.

Main roles will be cast with adults, 18 and over. Ensemble roles (townspeople, servants, etc.) will be cast with players 13 and up. Play dates are March 3-25.

-- BOUNTIFUL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, 745 S. Main, Bountiful, on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. for "Merry Christmas, George Bailey," a new, local adaptation of the classic film, "It's A Wonderful Life."

Adapted by Shirlee H. Shields and directed by Candy Revels, it will be staged as a 1940s radio show, readers'-theater style.

Both adults and children are needed and will be double-cast. Families are encouraged to audition together. There will be cold readings from the script. Play dates are Nov. 28-Dec. 17.

-- THE SANDY ARTS GUILD is looking for directors and producers for their 2006 summer season. Two musicals will be produced in the Sandy City Amphitheater. The musicals have not yet been determined.
