Demand for oil will take its toll
Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Sep 25, 2005
It isn't difficult to predict the future when the choices are few. My predictions: America will give up on Iraq and pull out within a year. Demand for Mideast oil will dry up to almost nothing. Nuclear and maybe fusion energy will become the predominant means of producing electricity. Gas-powered cars will disappear. And Iraq and the entire Mideast will go back to being isolated, backward religious enclaves hostile to everyone else. Oil thrust them into unwanted contact with the rest of the world and lack of demand for it will do the opposite.
