Cross Homes readies first display home at St. Charles County's Tudor
St. Louis Daily Record & St. Louis Countian, Mar 4, 2005 by St. Louis Daily Record Staff
Now that streets are in and its three, one-acre sites are coifed with plantings and multiton boulders, Cross Homes & Associates has begun work on its initial $1 million-plus display at Tudor Trace, a gated community located off Independence Road in the Greater Whitmoor neighborhood of eastern St. Charles County.
The home under construction is named the Missouri Bluffs, in honor of the vaunted golf course immediately south of Tudor Trace on Highway 94.
As planned, the model will cover nearly 5,000 square feet over two levels and be serviced by tandem two-car garages separated by a porte-cochere. It will have four bedrooms, including two on the lower level,; three full baths and two half-baths; three fireplaces; a window-walled, octagonal hearth room; and multiple bay window walls. Distinguishing features of the main level include an elaborate open staircase in the grand foyer that spirals into a central atrium below; a morning area which blends a gourmet kitchen, breakfast room and hearth room in visually compelling fashion; and a multifunction master suite with a sitting room, fireplace and entertainment area.
The kitchen will have professional grade G.E. Monogram appliances faced with stainless steel, natural granite countertops and job- finished hardwood flooring. It is designed so that the owners can host a televised cooking show, if they so desire, commented Bill Cross, president, in an announcement.
The lower level is also notable for its fully equipped theater room with stadium seating; granite-topped, sectional wet bar with raised masonry floor and complementary fireplace; a wine cellar; and two guest suites with full baths.
Exclusive features include multiple architectural columns; an array of handcrafted ceiling, window, alcove and entryway treatments throughout; furniture-quality wood cabinets; multipiece crown molding and millwork; and architectural drywall.
On a to-be-built basis, homes at Tudor Trace are priced from the $800,000s, site-inclusive. The projected completion value of the display now being built on site two exceeds $1.2 million.
