The Skyline girls swept the relay events. Cheron Amey, Asha Treadwell, Joi Glass and Chinwe Oniah won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 48.72 seconds and the 4x200 with a time of 1:43.98. Amey, Treadwell, Glass and Chabarianna Ryan took the 4x400 with a time of 4:01.22.

Fremont's Maliana Payton captured the 100-meter dash with a time of 12:56, beating Oniah's second-place time of 12.69. She also won the long jump with a mark of 17-8, and teammate Montairra Hart took the 200 in 26.28. Oniah won the triple jump with a mark of 36-71/4.

On the boys side, the Titans 4x100 team also took first with the group of Darquis Rucker, Derrick Henry, Lamont Sanders and Jordan Norris winning in a time of 43.78.

Mountain biking

SANTA CLARA -- El Cerrito's John Bennett won Sunday's varsity boys race at Grants Ranch, only the second victory for a Gauchos cyclist -- he also won in a March 2 race at East Garrison in Fort Ord.

Bennett set for the pace for most of the four laps on the six- mile course and pulled away in a sprint at the finish. Bennett's brother, Chris Bennett, took first in the freshman race.
