Mariam "Marina" Angel

Mariam, "Marina" Angel, 89, of Manteca, CA passed away on March 23, 2008. Marina was born in the Philippine Islands, but emigrated to the United States with her mother and Army father. She spent her childhood in Arizona, but lived most of her life in California. She is predeceased by her husband Ambrosio Angel, and oldest daughter Barbara Asercion. Her surviving children Cecelia Angel, Anita Angel, Dianna Louie, and Skip Angel all inherited her artistic talent, and love for gambling and traveling. Marina enjoyed her 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and is remembered for her generous spirit. To anyone who knew Marina, she was defined by one simple quality, she was a loving mother. The Angel family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Doctors' Hospital in Manteca.

A viewing will be held on March 27th, beginning at 4:30 and a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Holy Angels Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward, CA. The funeral will be on March 28th at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Angels and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.

Born in Texarkana, TX, departed this life on Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Berkeley, CA. Viewing and Quiet Hour will be Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 7-8pm at Harris Funeral Home (1331 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley, CA.) Dr. Everett C. Davis, Sr. passed away on March 20, 2008 in Richmond, CA. He is survived by his loving wife Mildred L. Davis, three children, Everett, Jr., Donald, Gwendolyn Davis, and a host of other relatives and very special friends. Everett's memory will live on in the heart of those who knew him and loved him.

Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Beth Eden B.C., 1183 10th Adeline Street, Oakland, CA at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery Dixon, CA. CORNELIA M. ROUZAN DUVERNAY

November 4, 1923 - March 19, 2008

Mrs. Cornelia M. Duvernay was born in St. Bernard's Parish in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 4, 1923. Her parents Mr. Louis and Laura (Bagneris) Rouzan raised Cornelia and her seven siblings (Harold, Louis, Eunice, Ruby, Gilbert, Carmelia, and Blanche) in a warm and loving Christian home. Cornelia attended elementary and high school with her siblings in New Orleans.

She wedded Otis Duvernay to this union was born Otis Duvernay, Jr. and Louis Duvernay. Cornelia moved to Oakland, California and graduated from Laney College with a Business Degree. Cornelia later married and to that union two sons and two daughters were born, Fred Taylor, Jr. (deceased), Sharon Taylor-Abrams, Gregory Taylor, and Bernice Taylor-Tate.

She worked as a Librarian Clerk in the Oakland Unified School District for 27 years. Her life was devoted to her family and church. She was a devout and traditional catholic. Over the years she attended St. Andrews where she assisted with the Alter Society and St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Churches. She was a faithful member for 37 years at St. Bernard Catholic Church where she served with the Booster Club until she was called by her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

She leaves her children, grand-children, great-grand children, great-great-grand-children, nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory. The Rosary Service is scheduled for March 27, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. The Mass will be held on March 28, 2008 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church at 11:00 am. The care is entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA.

CATHY JANE GALLANT

February 5, 1953 - March 4, 2008

Cathy Jane Gallant, a native of Lynn, MA and a resident of Livermore since 1984 died on March 4, 2008 at the age of 55 years of Cardiopulmonary Arrest in Fremont, CA.

Mrs. Gallant grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn Classical High School class of 1970; graduated from Beverly College in Beverly, MA and was a Bank Manager in Massachusetts.

Mrs. Gallant also worked for the Livermore School District for 4 years in Food Service and operated an in home day care business for many years. Her hobbies were quilt making and crafts.

Mrs. Gallant is survived by her devoted husband: Eric Gallant of Livermore; her mother: Marcia McSwiggin of Woburn, MA; 2 sons: Brent & Derek Gallant both of Livermore; 2 sisters: Cindy Cormier of Sacramento and Gail Lawrence of Woburn, MA; 1 brother: Scott McSwiggin of Woburn, MA.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sat., March 29, 1PM at the Family Home. Inurnment will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA. CALLAGHAN MORTUARY
