Defaulted property goes to auction

Oakland Tribune,  Mar 18, 2008  by Chris Metinko

Alameda County will conduct a tax-defaulted property auction through the Internet today through Tuesday.

Bid4Assets.com will conduct the auction for the county.

The county will offer 170 properties for sale, with minimum bids starting as low as $325. No properties in the auction have a reserve price.

Bidding will start 8:30 a.m. today and close at different times on Tuesday. A deposit of $5,000 -- with a $15 processing fee -- is required in order to bid on the properties.

People interested in the sale can preview the auctions at http:// www.bid4assets.com/alameda.

Bidders who are unable to bid online can contact Bid4Assets toll- free at 877-4ASSETS to request an off-line bid form or to bid.
