MANUEL CASCAREJO
He was born June 19, 1926 to Manuel & Irene Cascarejo in Lisbon, Portugal. On March 8, 2008, he entered into rest at his home in Livermore. His life in the United States began in 1951, when, as a member of the Portuguese Semi-Professional Soccer Team, he came here to play, and decided to stay. Manuel worked as a longshoreman for more than 25 years, and was a member of ILWU, local #10, San Francisco, retiring in 1987. A member of the Luso-American Federal Society, he would sing and entertain at all Portuguese Festivals. He loved the ocean and traveling cross-country in his motor home.
