NCS boys Div. V: Branson beats Lick Wilmerding
Oakland Tribune, Mar 2, 2008
Branson 45, Lick Wilmerding 33
KENTFIELD -- Guard Ryan McGuigan scored a game-high 17 points and locked down Lick Wilmerding's best player in the Bulls victory in the NCS Division V championship game at College of Marin.
It was the fifth straight NCS crown for Branson (27-3) and the seventh in the last nine years.
McGuigan drew the defensive assignment on Marcus Wells, who scored 37 in Lick's semifinal victory over St. Elizabeth, and held him to 12 points.
Lick hung close with Branson, the two-time defending state champion, into the third quarter, but a 12-2 run ended its hopes of a comeback.
