Man killed waiting outside taco truck in Oakland
Oakland Tribune, Feb 29, 2008
OAKLAND - A 24-year-old man was fatally shot last night waiting to get food at a Fruitvale District taco truck. Police said they have no motive for the killing of Brandon Quilice of Oakland.
The shooting happened about 10:58 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 38th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
Police said Quilice and a friend went to a taco truck parked at the intersection to get some food for themselves. Quilice was shot while standing near the taco truck. No one else was hurt. Quilice's friend drove him to Highland Hospital where he died at 11:23 p.m.
Police were told Quilice was a construction worker.
The killing was Oakland's 24th homicide of the year. Last year at this time there were 14 homicides.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Oakland Police at 510-238-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 510-238-6946.
