Airline e-Ticketing Set to Take Off in India

Electronic or e-ticketing is set to gain some serious ground among airlines in India .

Computerized reservation system (CRS) major Amadeus, is planning to kick-off e-ticketing with 11 international carriers in the country. It follows Galileo, the other CRS player, which was the first off the mark some months back with eight foreign airlines, including the likes of Lufthansa, British Airways, KLM, Swiss Air etc.

According to Galileo India head Seema Luthra, around 4,000 e- tickets are being sold in a month by international airlines at present. However, as the agent and traveller community and the security personnel at airports become more comfortable with paperless tickets, the concept will become popular. - (EMEconomy.com)
