Bacon, lettuce and tomato is the best-selling sandwich in the UK, according to a survey of 450 buttie-making firms.
Second place in 2004 went to egg and cress, while third was tuna mayo.

Sandwich makers Daily Bread, who carried out the survey, also found that Brits still prefer ordinary bread rather than more exotic ciabatta or paninis.
