2min: In thick of action, jumped between two defenders but failed to direct header on target.
5: Received the ball with back to goal at edge of area, turned his man and played short pass to Ashley Cole who laid Baal to Peter Crouch to score opening goal.
7: In space in area, took Baal down well with first touch from a Stewart Downing cross but only managed to direct a left-footed shot wide of near post from 10 yards out.
25: Narrowly offside in front of marker in penalty area as game entered a quiet spell.
30: Unable to pounce after Owen Hargreaves' free-kick had struck post and rebounded across goal.
37: Attempted to hook Baal over head but it was cleared.
