Valentino Rossi grabbed pole for the French GP with a spectacular late lap in MotoGP qualifying. The Italian clocked 1min 33.226sec around the tricky Le Mans track with a few seconds remaining. Colin Edwards was second, 0.223 slower than his team-mate.
