Planes in head-on crash at Polish air show
Independent on Sunday, The, Sep 2, 2007
Here, frozen in a few frames taken by a Reuter's photographer, are the moments when two planes collided, and then disintegrated, at the Radom Air Show in Poland yesterday. The planes, from the Zelazny aerobatics team, were flying across each other's path, thankfully well away from the spectator area of the show, 62 miles from Warsaw.
There were no reported injuries to those on the ground, but, by last night, no word on the fate of the pilots. However, as can be seen from the final frame showing one plane virtually atomised, there was little hope that they could have survived.
