We've come across a new breed of ultra-luxury perfumers that offer consumers a more tailored product.
Xerjoff XJ 17/17 (www.xerjoff.com) retails at between [pound]2,290 and [pound]29,950. Why? Every detail of its production is carried out by hand, and is months in the making. Bottles are carved from a whole crystal - from quartz to aquamarine.
Le Labo (www.lelabofragrances.com) has just opened in Liberty London, and invites its customers to witness the scent being mixed in the Labo laboratory.
And in Harrods, premium perfumer Roja Dove (www. rojadove.com) recently launched his perfume series The Roja Dove Trilogy, in which each fragrance is the result of three months work - twice the length of time taken by the high-street perfume brands.
