With major hotels, movie stars and acclaimed chefs opening new restaurants, there's plenty to get your teeth into this summer.

There're tiger prawns with a passion fruit sake sauce, duck breast with lychee soy sauce and views over the Andaman Sea at the newly opened Baba Dining Lounge, Sri Panwa, Phuket 83000, Thailand (00 66 76 371 00013; sripanwa.com).

Celebrated Manhattan-based chef Tom Colicchio has opened the third branch of his successful restaurant group Craft at 10100 Constellation Boulevard, Los Angeles (001 310 279 4180; craftrestaurant. com) where dishes such as braised beef short rib and root vegetables are served "family style" for sharing.

The signature dish at actor Danny DeVito's new restaurant, Devito 150 Ocean Drive, South Beach, Florida (001 305 531 0911; devitosouthbeach.com), is Devitos Global Wagyu Trio - luxury Japanese, Australian and American steaks.

Michelin-starred chef Alan Murchison brings modern French cooking to La Becasse, 17 Corve Street, Ludlow (01584 872325; labecasse.co.uk) featuring ballotine of organic salmon, beetroot puree, horseradish and potato mousse.

Leading light of "la jeune cuisine", Gilles Choukroun, brings his signature foie-gras creme brlee to Mini Palais au Grand Palais, Perron Alexandre III, Avenue Winston Churchill, Paris (00 33 1 42 56 42 42; minipalais.com).

Contemporary Chinese cuisine is on the menu at the new rooftop restaurant My Humble House, The Maurya, Diplomatic Enclave, Sadar Patel Marg, New Delhi (00 91 11 26112233; starwoodhotels. com), where the degustation menu includes steamed fillet of silver cod.
