TIM HAMES, in The Times on Monday, compared the Tory leader David Cameron to the film 91/2 weeks, in which Mickey Rourke (the Tory leader, in his analogy) and Kim Basinger (the electorate) embark on an intense but ultimately doomed affair. Hames complains about Cameron's failure to switch George Osborne and William Hague; policy backtracking on marriage, crime and Europe; and tone.
