Torrential rain set to batter Britain again
Independent on Sunday, The, Jul 15, 2007
Torrential rain is once again expected to batter Britain today, meaning more homeowners could find themselves blighted by floods at the height of summer. The Met Office issued a severe weather warning yesterday, saying 50mm of rain could fall on some parts of the country, causing flash floods. The North is expected to bear the brunt of the weather.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "Places are still saturated at the moment. That amount of rainfall could result in possible surface water flooding." AJ
