Annual gay jamboree reclaims the streets
Independent on Sunday, The, Jul 1, 2007
Despite rain and bomb threats, thousands of people walked through central London for the annual Gay Pride festival yesterday. After the march from Baker Street to Trafalgar Square there was entertainment in the square, including acts such as ex-Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes and 1980s pop star Jimmy Somerville. The presenter Graham Norton and actor John Barrowman also took to the stage. For a second year, members of the Royal Navy were permitted to join the parade in uniform.
