Loudon Wainwright III

Independent on Sunday, The,  Jun 3, 2007  by Simmy Richman

Given his less-than-perfect track record with his own children, it's highly appropriate that Wainwright Sr should have been asked to pen the music to 'Knocked Up', a comedy about a guy whose one-night stand turns up on his doorstep eight months' pregnant. 'Knocked Up' has not only had incredible reviews Stateside but it has also paved the way for the best LWIII album for many a long year. 'Strange Weirdos' proves that what Wainwright has always needed is a skilled and sensitive collaborator - provided here in the shape of Joe Henry. Excellent songs, beautifully sung. Rufus and Martha watch out.
