FILM

Independent, The (London),  Nov 10, 2006

Jagshemash! It may not break any box office records in Kazakhstan but Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is surely the most successful (and funniest) film ever to feature the former Soviet republic in its title. The antics of Sacha Baron Cohen's ludicrously offensive hack (above) top the charts in both the UK and, surprisingly, in "the US and A" this week.

In an all-round good week for Brits, Sixty Six, Paul Weiland's bar mitzvah comedy, benefits from the producing wisdom of the king of the romcom Richard Curtis, and Little Children stars Kate Winslet as a desperate housewife.
