Darfur raiders attack Chad

N'DJAMENA, CHAD Gunmen on horseback have killed up to 220 villagers in eastern Chad in growing ethnic violence near Sudan's Darfur region, the UN refugee agency said. The raiders have struck at least seven villages since Saturday, the UNHCR added. Chad and the Central African Republic have both requested peacekeepers.
