The Mental Health Foundation and the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities have launched a new report, Feeding Minds - the impact of food on mental health. The report lays out the evidence linking trends in food consumption with mental ill-health, and supports the case for an integrated approach to the treatment of mental health problems, identifying nutrition as a key component. To help with the difficulties people face with the benefits system, SAMH has published a series of five self-help guides to claiming benefits. The titles are: Unable to work due to illness or disability?; Community Care Grants from the Social Fund; Incapable of Work? The personal capability assessment; Crisis Loans from the Social Fund; and Claiming Disability Living Allowance. The easy to use guides are available free of charge to service users.
