Lack of Data Backup Leaves Companies Vulnerable

Document Management Offers Security and Compliance

In a recent survey by The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), it was found that 50% of businesses that lost data from a disaster and didn't have a data management plan filed for bankruptcy right away. In addition, 93% of companies that lost their data for 10 days went bankrupt within a year. Businesses without proper data management or backup systems could quickly spiral towards financial instability, warns Easy Data Access. According to the document management developer, organizations are not taking the 'must-have' approach to implementing disaster recovery plans that include document management systems to safely organize, secure and archive data files.

"Fast recovery from any type of data disaster is essential for every business, yet companies are taking a 'wait and see' approach to implementing a strategic plan," says Ketul Patel, president and CTO of Easy Data Access. "In the past, document management software was seen as strictly an online filing system. Today, this technology offers business tools that play a critical part in the efficiency and productivity of a company. Only with document management software as part of a disaster recovery plan will companies be properly prepared in times of need."
