The original has a blue background, yellow wings, a brown owl and the outlines of the book in black.
The technical manuals accompanying the technical equipment are also collected. The Chronicles of Fernmeldebereich 70, 71 and 72 have been transferred to the archive. Completeness and contents of the Chronicles differ from year to year with gaps, depending on the individual writers of the war diaries. The archive has a long way to go and the Association is seeking cooperation with the Federal Archive and the DOKZENT of the Federal Army. Contributions to the archive from all sources are very much appreciated.
Conversation with OSFw Hans Frommer on 3. July 1997. It seems impossible today to discover who really was the first to report the invasion. There are other first reports by the Army, Navy and Federal Intelligence Service, more or less at the same time. That is no surprise as all listened into the radio nets of the Soviet Army and Air Force.
People of the former DDR (German Democratic Republic), especially some of their former soldiers, may have interpreted the reunification as losing the war without a single shot.
The correction of misbearing was attempted by an automated process, based on collected data over several decades and the experience of the operators. To the dislike of the true believers in modern technology, the knowledge-based system is always beaten by the experienced human operator. Some well-known transmitters with known coordinates and signatures were used for calibration. The automated plotting system never got the right error triangle. Automatic error correction is a very difficult task. Many parameters must be taken into account. Quite easily corrected are the errors of Adcock antennas and receivers. But the wave propagation is still tricky and the mathematical models though fairly accurate are nevertheless imperfect. After years of experience, it is a miracle that the human mind of the operator wins against the soulless machines of perhaps even greater human minds.
