Caymans not PC

Human Events,  Jan 16, 1998

CAYMANS NOT PC: The Cayman Islands may be a shelter for investors, but the tiny country obviously has not attracted a large number of the politically correct. Last week, Cayman officials told Atlantis Events, which had chartered the Leeward, a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, for a cruise around the Caribbean by a group of homosexuals, that the ship could not dock on the tiny country's largest island, Grand Cayman.

"Careful research and prior experience," said the government letter, "has led us to conclude that we cannot count on this group to uphold the standards of appropriate behavior expected of visitors to the Cayman Islands, so we regrettably cannot offer our hospitality." Needless to say, the uproar in the United States began immediately.
