Hymn for the Creation

Father, who made the night and day By spinning earth upon its way, And, after all of that, made us, We praise your work as glorious. Creator of creation, praise Will honor you throughout our days!

Lest we forget you made the earth, Quicken in us that second birth Which gives us eyes to see in all The glory there before the Fall. Creator of creation, we Will then restore because we see.

Much has been marred; help us repair The marks of damage everywhere, The scars of folly, smears of greed; Help us make use at one with need. Creator of creation, lend Your grace and power to help us mend.

And where we have destroyed, forgive; Help us to help all species live And thrive to their and our own health. Teach us that life is greatest wealth. Creator of creation, thus May you protect and prosper us.

Stewards of your esteemed estate, We tend your garden as we wait, Gladly plying the pruning knife, Hoping for resurrected life. Creator of creation, why Must we pollute your earth and sky?

Lord Jesus, since it is by you Fallen creation can undo The endless damage sin had done, Complete the work you have begun. Creation of creation, we Seek to assist your ministry.

Holy Spirit, Creative Dove, Quicken our energy for love. We waver lest our wisdom fail, But will to see your Will prevail. Creator of creation, may You transform fear to hope today.

And may the earth, renewed, restored, Proclaim the goodness of the Lord, The steadfast mercy of his ways At present and in future days. Creator of creation, we Work for your loving sovereignty.
