Service Plus has grown from a two-bay auto shop to a 10-bay, state-ofthe-art, automotive-repair facility in the last 12 years. In 1992, Don Peck opened a two-bay shop on Route 3 in Black River. In 1995, he added a third bay and a small, used-car lot.

In 2002, Peck began construction of a new facility in a new location. The new, 7,000-square-foot repair facility is on the corners of Routes 283 and 342, just outside the main gate of Fort Drum, north of Watertown. Shortly after relocating, Peck opened a used car lot with a 50-vehicle inventory.

Service Plus, using aggressive sales methods, has grown from gross sales of $43,000 its first year to gross sales of more than $2.7 million in 2003. Just last year, the company had a 43-percent increase in service and a 107-percent increase in sales from the previous year. In 1992, the company employed two; currently employment is nine fulltime and two part-time people.
