ABOUT THE AUTHORS

WALTER ZINN is Associate Professor of Marketing and Logistics at The Ohio State University. He is the former Systems Section Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics. He recently edited a Special Section on Logistics, Marketing and Supply Chain Strategies for the same journal. Dr. Zinn earned MBA and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University. His research interests focus primarily on the impact of customer service policies on the determination of safety stocks. Professor Zinn is also interested in logistics in South America issues. His research has been published in academic journals such as the Journal ofBusiness Logistics, European Journal ofBusiness Logistics, European Journal ofOperational Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and The International Journal of Logistics Management. As an additional scholarly activity, Professor Zinn recently completed two studies for the World Bank, both discussing Supply Chain Management problems generated by imperfections in public policy. Professor Zinn is also a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Business Logistics and The International Journal of Logistics Management.
