Sarcasm, in Greek, means to tear flesh
Frontiers, 1995 by Fisk, Molly
I am lost and I have not
been found. You are welcome
to talk to me but
there is no one here.
Let's talk about movies,
The Law, academic pursuits,
even sex would be fine.
Have you slept with a sheep?
And when she grew up,
was she normal?
What tests did you run
to conclude this?
Does she eat bright new grass
right down o the root
and bleat when she smells a coyote?
Does she prance in the spring
and accept rams, and lamb?
Will you knit with her wool
and protect her for years,
or send her this fall to the slaughter?
I said I was lost. I have not been found
because slaughter reminds me
of daughter.
