Your builder or architect can help you customize a Southern Living plan. Here are a few suggestions for this house.

1. Enclose the rear entry access between the kitchen and foyer to create a pantry/secondary food prep area. This will close off deck access from the entry. This move will also set up a direct link to the laundry room.

2. Add a raised outdoor fireplace to the deck for seasonal comfort.

3. Enclose the small porch off the master bedroom for a reading alcove or a fireplace.

4. Replace the showers in each secondary bath with tubs.

5. Convert the closet space off the foyer into a powder room.
