MISS JULIA STANDS HER GROUND

Southern Living,  May 2006  by Dorman-Hickson, Nancy

MISS JULIA STANDS HER GROUND BY ANN B. ROSS (VIKING, $24.95)

Miss Julia has found romance with new husband Sam, who loves her in a way that Wesley Lloyd Springer, her philandering, deceased spouse, never did. She now adores Little Lloyd, the child produced by his affair with Hazel Marie.

The four of them live together as a family. Julia's even managed to win a place for Hazel Marie amid her social set.

All that changes when Hazel Marie's no-good Uncle Vernon shows up. The sleazy evangelist claims he has proof that Lloyd isn't the child of Julia's dead husband.

Miss Julia hopes to protect them all from further scandal. But to discredit Vernon, she may have to dig up her former husband for DNA samples. The proper Miss Julia shudders at the very thought.
