Fun in the kitchen

Southern Living,  Jul 2002  by Zacharia, Joy E

summer suppers

No kidding. These scrumptious recipes will work for you too.

Kelsey Corbin, 12, who lives near Kansas City, Missouri, has been cooking for seven years. Her mom, Laurie, instilled in her a love of all things culinary at an unusually early age. In fact, Kelsey started helping Laurie (who passed away last November) bake cookies as a toddler.

During the summer Kelsey likes to whip up tasty treats, such as the ones she shared here, for her best pals. "You get pretty hungry riding your bike all day," she explains.

MANDARIN SALAD ORIENTAL

EASY CHICKEN CORDON BLEU

MIXED-BERRY ANGEL CAKES WITH ALMOND SUGAR

CHEESY STUFFED POTATOES
