New Cineplex Odeon Cinema Planned for Oshawa, Ontario to Open in 2006

Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN) announced today the development of a ten screen entertainment complex on the Southeast corner of Taunton Road and Grandview Street in Oshawa, Ontario. The 2,200+ seat complex will occupy approximately 41,000 square feet of space and will offer state-of-the-art amenities and an exceptional entertainment experience.

At a press conference today at the Legends Centre in Oshawa, Mayor John Gray and Cineplex Entertainment Executive Vice President, Dan McGrath 'cemented' plans to build the new theatre with a unique hand-printing ceremony. Construction of the new theatre is expected to begin in May and the opening is slated for later this year. The event was attended by Oshawa business people, City Councillors and local media.

Cineplex Odeon Oshawa Cinema will feature all stadium seating (each seat row will be 18" higher than the previous row) with large, luxurious seats with ample legroom; wall-to-wall, giant, curved screens; and Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The large lobby features and overlooking balcony seating area and will offer more than just popcorn and soft drinks. In addition to the broad snack and beverage selection, Cineplex Odeon Oshawa Cinema concessions will include pizza by Pizza Pizza, fresh-cut fries and chicken tenders; a cafe serving specialty coffees; as well as a Yogen Fruz frozen dessert bar offering a wide selection of no-fat and low-fat yogurts and premium ice creams. The complex will also house Cinescape, a family entertainment centre featuring the latest interactive electronic video games that will be accessible without the purchase of a movie ticket.
