Harte-Hanks Debuts On Software Magazine 500 At Number 67

Harte-Hanks (NYSE:HHS) today announced that it has been named to the Software Magazine 500, the industry-leading publication's annual guide to the top software companies in the industry. Harte-Hanks debuted on the list this year at number 67. IBM and Microsoft were numbers 1 and 2, respectively.

The publication describes the listing as "a comprehensive look at the enterprise software landscape, encompassing both public and private companies that develop and market business software and services for a wide variety of industries."

"The Software Magazine 500 is a comprehensive look at the key players in the software industry, so it is quite impressive for a company to debut in the top 100 in its first year on the list, as has Harte-Hanks," said John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine. "We ranked each company based on its total worldwide software and services revenues for 2002, including revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training, services and consulting."

The rankings consider each software company's software revenues (with other sources of revenue, such as hardware sales, stripped out) over the course of the calendar year. The financial information was gathered from Software Magazine's annual vendor survey, public documents, press releases, SEC filings, and industry analysts. A technology consultant compiled the results and analysis. The publication is available on newsstands now.

"Harte-Hanks has been investing in its software and services business over the last several years in the global data quality, customer data management, lead management, customer care and customer relationship management arena, and clearly we are being recognized for our efforts both in terms of growth and industry recognition," said Spencer Joyner, vice president, Harte-Hanks. "We are thrilled to be named to this important listing, and are very pleased with our ranking among the most influential software companies in the world."
