Food school cooks up 18,000s/f deal

Real Estate Weekly,  Sept 21, 2005

Culinary Academy of New York, part of the Culinary Academy career schools offering commercial cooking and hotel and restaurant management programs, announced that it has leased 18,000 s/f at 154 West 14th Street.

The deal represents an expansion of the school's current commitment in the building.

The school will take part of the 10th and the entire 11th floors.

Harry L. Krausman, Managing Director at Colliers ABR, Inc. represented Culinary Academy of New York in the transaction.

"Culinary Academy of New York was looking to grow within the building," said Harry Krausman. "We were happy to successfully negotiate the school's lease at 154 West 14th Street, gaining additional expansion space that was not originally available."

The Culinary Academy was recently acquired by Quad Ventures LLC.

Quad Ventures is infusing capital and management expertise to help grow the New York City school.

The space will be used for classrooms, executive and sales offices.

Lou Prisco, senior managing director at GVA Williams, represented the landlord, Abner Properties, in the transaction.
