MBA online educational site wins association award

Real Estate Weekly,  Dec 27, 2000

CampusMBA, the online educational web community of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA), has won the Award o Excellence in the 2001 Associations Advance America Awards program, a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

CampusMBA (www.campusmba.org), one of the first broad-scale education platforms to be created by a national trade association, is the learning center for real estate finance. It serves as the main "lifelong learning" resource for the industry, focusing on service, value, and versatility. The online community educates MBA members, students, teachers, journalists, and the public on one of the largest and most important American purchases -- a home. CampusMBA offers this industry education in the following formats: Print-based correspondence courses; Web-based courses; video-tape courses; in-residence, classroom training; a "'Certificate of Achievement" program; audio conferences; virtual seminars; video conferences/video tapes; real estate finance publications.

The prestigious Associations Advance America Awards program, now in its 11th year, recognizes associations that propel America forward with innovative projects in education, skills training, standards setting, business and social innovation, knowledge creation, citizenship, and community service. Although association activities have a powerful impact on everyday life, they often go unnoticed by the general public.

"MBA'a program truly embodies the spirit of the Associations Advance America campaign," said ASAE president Michael S. Olsen, CAE. "It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity as an example of the many contributions associations are making to advance American society."

CampusMBA is now in the running to receive a Summit Award to be presented During gala ceremonies at ASAE's 81st annual meeting in Philadelphia, Aug. 4-7 or at the Summit Award dinner on Sept. 25 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
