Survival Technology to supply auto-delivery systems to DPSC

Health Industry Today,  Feb, 1994

Survival Technology Inc. (STI), Rockville, Md. signed a $5.6 million agreement with the U.S. Defense Personnel Support Center's (DPSC) Washington, D.C. Region for auto-delivery systems of nerve gas antidotes.

The agreement, signed in December, renews a previous contract between the DPSC and STI signed in November 1992. The new agreement includes options to extend it through 1995.

The agreement calls for the retention of key STI personnel and facilities to assure expertise for manufacturing auto-injectors containing nerve-gas antidotes, the storage of serviceable material from expired auto-injectors, the management of the U.S. Army's shelf-life extension program and new product orders. It also makes allowances for providing the DPSC with the supplies needed to cover defense mobilization requirements in the event of rapid military development.

In addition to the agreement, STI is seeking to become the manufacturer of the DiazePam auto-injector for the Department of Defense. The DiazePam auto-injector was previously supplied by Solvay Duphar B.V., which closed its U.S. operations in June.
