2005-06 Special Expertise Panel members approved

HR Magazine,  August, 2005  

The Governance Committee of the Board of Directors for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) approved 67 new members of the SHRM Special Expertise Panels during its meeting prior to SHRM's Annual Conference in June. The remaining 108 members were appointed to a second year on the panel.

The SHRM Special Expertise Panels identify topics of importance to the HR profession. Each of the 12 Special Expertise Panels is composed of up to 15 SHRM professional members who serve a one-year term that is renewable up to three years.

Panel members report emerging trends in specific HR topic areas, provide expert advice and give guidance on public policy. Members must have expertise in the panel topic area, good communication and interpersonal skills, an established professional network with strategic/operational connections, and the ability to participate. For information on nominations, see the Volunteer Opportunities Center (www.shrm.org/volunteer). All nominations are reviewed and recommended by the Panel Selection Committee.
