AOB helps promote American Beer Month

Modern Brewery Age,  July 21, 2003

The Association of Brewers of Boulder, CO, is helping celebrate American Beer Month, with a web page informing consumers of brewery promotions and events. The site is located at http://www.americanbeermonth.com/about.html.

According to the AOB, "American Beer Month (ABM), celebrated during the month of July, is a grassroots campaign organized by the Association of Brewers to promote American brewing and celebrate the diversity and variety of American beer."

Sales and marketing coordinator Monica Tall has sought to get all small brewers to post their beer month events on the site.

In a missive to small brewers, Tall writes, "Americanbeermonth.com is the source for American Beer Month information. We need to show distributors, beer retailers, the public and most importantly the media how they can 'discover the flavors of independence'.

"When a reporter calls us," she continues, "we want to be able to give them a local angle to their story. If your event and promotion is on the website, we'll be able to give the reporter solid information for their story."

The site will also list events held post-July, according to Tall. "American Beer should be celebrated all year long," she writes. "Are you celebrating by passing out stickers and running beer specials but not holding an event? That's okay. No matter how large or small your promotion, it deserves a spot on the website."
