Coors proceeding with Virginia expansion plans

Modern Brewery Age,  Jan 16, 2006

Molson-Coors has confirmed plans to spend $24 million to expand its packaging plant in Virginia, including the addition of a new high-speed packaging line. The Coors Shenandoah Valley plant packages about 40% of the beer brewed in Golden.

Molson-Coors is also building a new high-tech brewery near the Shenandoah packaging plant. This brewery, with an estimated cost of $190 million, is projected to open in 2007.

Molson-Coors other eastern unit, the Memphis, TN, brewery, is slated for closure later this year.
