In U.K., Belhaven to be purchased by Greene King

The Belhaven Group PLC reports that it has agreed to accept a takeover bid by Greene King PLC that values the Scottish pub and brewery company at 187 million pounds ($336 million), the companies reported last weel.

Belhaven, which is based in Dunbar, brews Belhaven Best, distributes Tennent's and Stella Artois, and operates 270 pubs. It will continue to operate under its current name, the companies said.

Greene King, based in Bury St. Edmunds in eastern England, owns more than 2,000 pubs and brews several ales.
