The company was founded in 1884 in Ofringen, Switzerland, and today operates 150 manufacturing plants in 45 countries. In addition to supplying calcium carbonate to the food and pharmaceutical business, we are a global supplier to the paper, plastics, and paint industries.

OMYA Arizona began producing food grade and pharmaceutical grade natural ground calcium carbonate in December 2000. The plant was designed and built as a cGMP facility. The plant is AIB, Kosher and FISA-certified, and meets all the requirements of California Proposition 65 low lead.
