Weatherby honors sales reps

Weatherby has announced its annual sales awards recognizing outstanding performance by firms and individuals in its marketing organization. The awards, based on achievements during 2004, were made recently at the company's summer planning meeting held at Weatherby headquarters in Atascadero, Calif.

"These awards relate directly to the sales performance of our company. Because of this, we have invested significant time in perfecting a rating system in which measurable results, such as dollar-volume increases and order increases, are considered along with a comprehensive list of subjective criteria dealing with sales and service performance on a day-to-day basis. We felt having a top-notch system of evaluation really helps in selecting and recognizing the best of the best each year and makes the awards more meaningful," said Brad Ruddell, Weatherby sales and marketing vice president.

Also participating in the awards were Ed Weatherby, president; Bruce Dixon, executive vice president and CFO and John Lutes, national sales manager.

Those honored were:

Representative Group of the Year--Schooler & Associates, Albany, Texas. The firm includes Mike Schooler, Kevin Roberson, Luke Berger and Chris Matchoa. Schooler & Associates qualified for the honor by ranking near or at the top in nearly every sales and service category.

Representative of the Year--Tom Stuckey, Outdoor Marketing Group (OMG). Stuckey, the Virginia field representative for OMG, was recognized for his ability to develop relationships with the industry's national conservation organizations. He was also cited for his overall sales efforts including superior day-to-day work with dealers within his territory.

Most New Accounts in 2004--H & G Marketing, Big Lake, Minn. H & G representatives opened an exceptional number of new Weatherby accounts in 2004. This was particularly notable because it was achieved in already well-developed and mature territories. H & G principals, Brad Paskey and Bob Giarusso, accepted the award.

Rookie of the Year--Mike Harsany, H & G Marketing. After his first year as a field representative, Harsany was cited for major contributions to his firm's increased sales of all Weatherby products. Harsany's success was grounded in an extremely professional and well-thought-out business plan for his accounts specifically and his territory in general.

Largest Percentage Increase in Sales--Dan Seniuk & Associates, Edmonton, Alberta. The firm was recognized for achieving a significant sales increase despite the added challenge of working across national borders.
