Yale taps Taherian as new dining services executive director

NEW HAVEN, CONN. -- Yale University has named Raft Taherian the new executive director of its dining services division.

Taherian, who replaces Don McQuarrie, was hired following an extensive, six-month search after the university decided to self-operate its foodservice program and terminate the 9-year foodservice contract it had with Philadelphia-based Aramark Corp.The contract officially ends at the end of February.

Before accepting his new position, Tahefian, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., had served as executive dining director at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
