Culinary students create mini burrito for Taco John's

Nation's Restaurant News,  Feb 18, 2008

CHEYENNE, WYO. -- TWO students from Cheyenne Central High School won a statewide culinary competition hosted by Taco John's and the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association by creating a new menu item for the chain of more than 426 quick-service restaurants, based here.

Rockie Hiser and Tate Bauman developed the "Wrapito," a mini chicken burrito, during an Iron Chef-like contest, beating out three other semifinal teams. The Wrapito will become a limited-time offering on Taco John's menu. Proceeds from its sales would benefit the WLRA Education Foundation. The winning chefs also each receive a $500 scholarship.
