Chipotle elevates 2 execs, realigns field management

Nation's Restaurant News,  Feb 11, 2008

DENVER -- The 670-unit Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. is promoting two executives and reorganizing its regional divisions.

Rex Jones, now executive director of development, will become chief development officer March 1. Regional director Bob Blessing will become restaurant support officer May 1.

Chipotle also said it will divide its operating regions into five geographic areas instead of three. Being promoted to oversee the new divisions are Phil Petrilli, an operations director in the Washington, D.C., area, who will be Northeast regional director; Michelle Small, an operations director in the Pacific region, who will head the Central region; and Bobby Shaw, an operations director in the Southeast, who will be regional director for the South.
