Anderson to step down as NRA president, CEO

Nation's Restaurant News,  Feb 5, 2007

Washington -- The National Restaurant Association is searching for a new leader to succeed Steven C. Anderson, who will step down Feb. 23 as president and chief executive of the organization to assume the same posts at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.

NRA chairman Edward Tinsley said a search committee was formed by the association's board on the night of Jan. 22, the day Anderson tendered his resignation, and conferred by phone the next morning to jump-start the hunt.

"The job of heading an association of our size and influence continues to evolve, and we defined the skill set a candidate would need to lead a group like ours forward," he said.

Anderson has led the trade group since 1999.
